About Us

The Women's Economic Society operates as a civil society social program.  We are in process of gathering documents to request national non profit status.

The vision of the Women's Economic Society is to help women and their families to reach their full potential for equality and economic security by establishing bridges to create a business, learn skills, and find a job.

The mission of the Women's Economic Society is to create a digital platform to connect women and their families from cities and villages to global trade, provide an educational avenue for them to learn IT skills, and expand their network. As such we welcome youth, male and female who want to share their IT skills with others.  Those who have had more Cerek, are especially welcome to begin learning IT skills.  Desire and perseverance is more important than age.

Our projects

To realize the vision and act on the mission of the Women's Economic Society, we plan to work on three projects.

WES-Buy App

To create and manage a free app that will give access to women with handicrafts/or other commercial skills from all over Turkmenistan to offer their goods and services to buyers from all over the country and abroad.   All users from the city, regions, & villages and from all backgrounds -- professional art designers, beginning ones, those who sell goods as embroidery or those with expertise in cultural, historical, engineering, math, environmental, agricultural, tech and stem skills to develop projects -- will have an IT platform to connect to local, regional, and global trade.

Additional apps and other digital platforms will be developed to improve job choices and enable better economic outcomes for Turkmen women, men and families.

Bridge2Success

To offer training programs for the women of Turkmenistan to gain necessary skills that will enable them to build a career or progress in their roles in two directions:

- Specific coding/programming trainings + English language courses => This is important because there are very few IT specialists in Turkmenistan, especially women IT specialists.

- General computer skills/management of information systems + English language courses => This is important because Turkmenistan is digitalizing every day, every organization from textile factories, shops, and hospitals need to do their work on the computer. These trainings will allow women to learn or upskill their computer literacy skills.

English is not only a global language but also the language of the youth of Turkmenistan. Learning it, alongside computer skills, will allow women to achieve both career progress and a deeper connection with their children.

Career Bridge

To assist women to search for and find a job, gain soft skills, and expand their networks in three directions:

- Create and manage a website, where 1. offline and online jobs from Turkmenistan and all over the world will be posted; and where 2. women and their family members can create a profile to showcase their resumes, skills, or availability to start a job [like a LinkedIn but for specific group].

- Work with local business to find out which IT specialties/programming/coders they need, include their needs to Bridge2Success trainings, and make contractual agreements with them where they agree to hire graduates of Bridge2Success.

Conduct recurrent trainings on soft skills as Business Etiquette, correspondence, public speaking, etc. where women will not only gain certain skills will have a chance to meet fellow women and families from different backgrounds that'll help them expand their network for encouragement and support.
