Climate Change and Youth Engagement Internship (for nationals of Turkmenistan only)

About the job UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential. Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone. And we never give up. For every child, care Empowerment of children and young people is one of UNICEF’s key cross-cutting priorities in Turkmenistan in its 2021-2025 country programme. As climate change makes crises more common and recovering from them becomes harder the actions must begin with knowledge and educating the young generation to adapt to the immediate challenges of climate change and to understand the active role to play. Education and youth engagement are recognized by the country as essential components and a catalyst for responding to global climate change challenges and disaster risk reduction. UNICEF and Government partners will continue its efforts to expand climate change topics to the higher education institutions and strengthen youth engagement to play a leading role in climate action for a just transition to a more sustainable future. To achieve its goal, UNICEF in Turkmenistan is looking to engage an intern to support the Climate Change and youth engagement teams in delivering results for children and young people.
